A minimalist film about the cycle of life
Life Cycle is inspired by the optical effects of stained glass and the lifecycle of a spinning coin.
It tells a story of a single being, searching and then meeting another. They continue on a journey together, their family grows and then leaves – the pair of them remaining, spinning. The life of one being begins to slow, its balance lost, before settling into peace.
Universal Everything shot the film in-camera at a macro scale – shooting spinning coloured lenses in a white space, before enhancing and compositing key scenes to create a ballet of spinning forms.
