We collaborated with over 20 animation studios from around the world on this animation project, creating a living mural on the Sydney Opera House.
While embracing emerging technologies, our process always starts with drawing. The traditional, hand-drawn cell animation techniques seen in this film are akin to the early pioneers of animation Len Lye, Norman McLaren and Walt Disney.
This film could have existed in 1920, though we give it a 21st-century twist – bringing in influences from global pop culture, modernist graphics and physics simulations. The resulting collaborative architectural projection is a playful exploration of one of the world’s most iconic buildings.

- ‘There’s something about the word “biggest” that always piques my interest. That said, ambition only gets you so far and you can’t sacrifice skill or style in a headlong rush for scale. With Universal Everything though, you needn’t worry.’ – Rob Alderson, It’s Nice That
